What all keys lost means
When there is no working key left, a new key has to be made and programmed to your vehicle before it will start. European keys carry electronics that talk to the car’s immobilizer, so a cut blade alone won’t start the car.
What to have ready
- Make, model and year
- Your VIN (driver’s side windshield, registration or insurance card)
- Proof of ownership (registration or title) and your ID
